We offer the following for our Obedience Lessons. We meet you in the environment of your choosing, and help your dog grow at their pace. Private lessons are great for pet parents that are too busy for the group environment, have reactive dogs, want a more hands on approach, and need more one on one time.

Beginner Obedience Training Curriculum:
Dogs will learn the following in Basics for Beginner Obedience:
- Sit and Stay in distractions.
- Intro to Place
- Kennel and Potty Training if needed
- Down in distractions
- Door Manners
- Drop It
- Leave It
- Loose Leash Walking
- Off (no jumping on people, counters, etc)
- Impulse Control (learning to listen even with distractions or excitement)
- Recall
- 3 Fun party tricks!
Intermediate Obedience Training Curriculum:
- Recall in high distractions
- Fading the Lure
- Catch, retrieve and release
- Heel. Sit when you stop.
- Finish
- Sit, Down, and Stay with more distractions
- Hand signals
- Sit in motion
- Stop/Halt
- Stand
- Place around distractions
- Running “STOP” command
- Start to Off Leash Heeling
- 3 Intermediate Party Tricks!
Advanced Obedience Training Curriculum:
- All Beginner and Intermediate items off leash
- Long Down Stay with handler out of sight
- Off leash commands in high distraction environments
- 3 Advanced party tricks!
Advanced dog obedience training programs teach dogs how to perform commands off leash, and keep their composure while dealing with distractions. This type of training is essential for owners that are working towards service dog task training and Public Access training. It is also great for the active pet parent that want to have off leash hikes without worrying about if their dog will come when called. Dogs must pass Basic and Intermediate Training to start Advanced, or pass an evaluation test.
AKC Canine Good Citizen
We are proud to now offer the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, and prep course.
What is the CGC?
- The CGC is a ten-skill training program focused on good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog — at home and in the community. Upon completion of the program, you will complete the CGC test. Passing dogs receive an official ribbon and certificate from the AKC. CGC certification is considered a stepping stone for dogs seeking advanced training in agility, therapy and more.
The CGC prep course is 6 weeks long, and is held in a variety of stimulating environments. After the 6 week prep, you and your pup take the exam.
