ABOUT US

Meet Shyama

Shyama started working with dogs in 2017 with her introduction to the Pet Nutrition industry, and dog training. She started her apprenticeship under various trainers, learning about different methods and approaches to common training issues. These apprenticeships helped her shape her own style of training. She also started walking dogs for a local company in 2019 that solidified her decision to stay in the pet industry. With this job, she gained experience handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments. She went on to being the designated walker for dogs that most companies would turn away; reactive and fearful dogs.

The pandemic of 2020 really helped with furthering education. Shyama went on to studying Veterinary Technology, and Canine Behavior at Penn Foster College. She also continued perfecting her training techniques and learning more about other fields of training such as sports, protection work, service dog training, and more.

Shyama went on to focusing on scentwork, and training service dogs for those with disabilities. She also works heavily with rescues, shelters, and clients with rescued dogs to help with common issues such as fear, reactivity, and aggression.

Meet The Dogs (and cat)

Shyama has three dogs and a cat!

Aoife is the eldest of the bunch, and is a chow shepherd mix. She's a medical alert dog trained in migraine, blood sugar, and cardiac alerts. She was rescued in 2017 from Gwinnett County Animal Control.

Koa also came from Gwinnett County, and joined the pack in 2020. He's a beautiful Chow Husky/Akita Mix. Koa had some fear issues to work through, but has turned into a wonderful and spoiled companion.

Last but certainly not least is Arlo! He is a sweet tabby cat who is definitely the boss of the house. He's small, but loves to perform tricks for the dog's treats!

"Highest recommendation! I trust Shy with my house and furbabies! Shy has been caring for our cats for 4 years and her loving and diligent attention has allowed my family to have peace of mind while away. My cats are 17 & 20 years old and are set in their ways and do not like strangers. Shy became fast friends with them and administers various oral and transdermal meds to the cats and visits multiple times per day. My cats are safe, happy, and well cared for with Shy in charge. Shy keeps the litter clean, the kitchen clean, and the floors clean after the inevitable hairball, or even, projectile vomit incidences. Shy gathers the mail, the packages left by garage and front door, and takes the trash cans in and out according to the sanitation pickup schedule. Her superior service even includes a photo of each cat each day with a cute write-up as to how her visit went. Now that I'm typing all of this, she's probably not charging me enough..."
